Shorter Daylight Hours Cause Safety Concerns

(NAPSI)—Most drivers have experienced difficulty driving at night or have occasionally had trouble seeing signs or objects on the road until they were next to them.
A recent survey commissioned by Sylvania and conducted by Harris Interactive found that 59 percent of drivers would like to see better at night and 92 percent think better car lighting technology (e.g. better headlights) would improve night driving safety.
The choice for drivers who wish to see better and drive more safely at night used to be limited to purchasing a high-end vehicle equipped with xenon or high-intensity discharge (HID) lighting. Fortunately, a new line of products from Sylvania now provides consumers with additional options.

The distinctive, crisp, white light of HID is said to stimulate reflective paints in road markers and signs, making them easier to see at night, thereby creating a safer driving environment.
HID’s increased light output can be used to illuminate a wider area in front of the vehicle, improving visibility and safety without disturbing the vision of oncoming drivers.
